<p>Southern Brazil is facing further disruption as heavy rains continue to batter the region after deadly flooding.</p>
<p>The death toll from flooding in the state of Rio Grande do Sul has risen to 113, with more than 140 people still missing. The floods have affected more than 1.9 million people in Brazil and displaced 1,300 people in Uruguay.</p>
<p>The record rainfall is attributed to the El Niño climate phenomenon, exacerbated by long-term global warming.</p>
